A Toast To The Recession
Hands up who’s sick of hearing about the recession this year? Literally, it’s all this year’s been about, and all it’ll be remembered for. But, two reasons to celebrate now, and one celebratory tool to do it with. First, the year’s almost done with. Secondly, because of the recession, supermarkets are entering a price war on Champagne.
The celebratory tool goes without saying.
Champagne sales have suffered due to the recession and as a result, we lucky shoppers are being treated to half price champagne deals on the wonderful bubbly stuff. Worth celebrating indeed.
The Co-op is going to sell Cazanove Grand Apparat Champagne at 15, pounds that’s half price as it was originally 30, pounds Sainsbury’s is cutting Etienne Dumont Brut Champagne down to 15.99 pounds from 27.99 pounds although if you were to buy six bottles (to erm, drink responsibly, of course)you’d save another 25%, and so each bottle would be 11.99 pounds (be rude not to really, eh?). Waitrose is also in on the deal with cheap bubbly.
Sometimes, one feels the upmost urge to be thankful for the recession. We may have lost our jobs, some have even lost their homes; Champagne can help with all of this.
